Happening on Friday the 13th of November, Campbelltown Arts Centre's Out of Office! Educator Evening will be a delightfully spooky night of creativity, connection, and inspiration. 

Presented by Campbelltown Arts Centre in partnership with VADEA, leave the classroom behind and slip into an evening of feasting, discovering, making, and mingling as you unwind and recharge in the company of fellow educators. 

Join us for an inspiring artist talk and immersive workshop with award-winning multidisciplinary artist Freya Jobbins , where you'll design and create a surreal humanoid assemblage collage and mask inspired by her unique artistic practice. Then venture into the shadows on a spooky tour of the 2026 Fisher's Ghost Art Award and uncover the creative surprises lurking within Campbelltown Arts Centre’s dynamic 2027 program. 

Teachers attending can experience: 

·        An exclusive artist talk and surreal humanoid assemblage workshop with award-winning artist Freya Jobbins

    This event for teachers of Visual Arts and Design will examine how the Chau Chak Wing Museum (CCWM) collections can be activated as rich teaching and learning resources, supporting students to engage with artworks, artists, audiences and ideas through inquiry, interpretation and making. Participants will explore how curatorial thinking can strengthen classroom practice, deepen critical and historical investigations and foster authentic connections to the new NSW Visual Arts syllabuses.

    Whether you teach in primary, secondary or senior Visual Arts contexts, this event will offer valuable insights into:

    • The inspiring range of teaching and learning resources and educational opportunities facilitated by the CCWM and VADEA
    • Using collections as dynamic learning resources across K-12
    • Embedding curatorial perspectives into teaching and learning programs
    • Developing student understanding of artistic and curatorial practices
    • Supporting critical and historical studies through engagement with artworks and exhibitions
    • Aligning learning experiences with the intent and direction of the new NSW Visual Arts syllabuses

    This is a wonderful opportunity to connect with colleagues, discover innovative approaches to Visual Arts education and consider how collections-based learning can enrich student engagement across all stages of schooling. Morning tea and lunch provided.
