Curriculum Resource Writers Needed for VADEA / WestConnex Public Art Program

WestConnex have developed an incredible public art program titled Canal to Creek that consists of 18 artworks that have been commissioned and mostly installed in new or rejuvenated public spaces from St Peters to Beverly Hills – link here.

The Visual Arts & Design Educators Association (VADEA) and WestConnex have partnered to develop an online educational platform showcasing the WestConnex Public Art Program which will be directly tailored to the learning outcomes of the NSW Visual Arts curriculum for Years 7-10 students. It is hoped the educational platform will support the development of students’ critical and creative thinking and awareness of how public artworks contribute to communities. The online educational platform is expected to be an exemplar resource for students and teachers alike and will provide many interactive opportunities to engage both physically and virtually with the artworks developed for this program.

VADEA is inviting expressions of interest from experienced visual art educators to assist with the development of the curriculum resources. As a VADEA Professional Officer (Curriculum Resource Writer), you would be required to develop educational materials for 7-10 using templates and resource material provided. The work could take a minimum of 1 day and up to 3 days dependant on scope of works the applicant is willing to undertake. It is preferred that the resources are developed prior to the end of the school year and we second you from your school, with your Principal’s permission (link here for a letter to your Principal). However, you may nominate to complete the work during the school holidays or may not be in a school currently and VADEA would pay you directly. The due date for the completion of resources is Thursday 14 January 2021.
